Chat
Questions you ask the chat assistant are logged so Matthew can see what people ask about and improve the assistant's answers.
Each logged question is tagged with a session identifier that is a salted, one-way hash — it groups questions from the same visit without identifying you. Your IP address is not stored with the log. Anything you type into a message is logged as written, so please don't include personal details you don't want kept.
To generate answers, your message is sent to Ollama Cloud, which runs the model (DeepSeek V4.1 Flash). Ollama states it keeps zero data for this model — prompts and responses aren't retained or used for training.
Your chat transcript lives only in your browser's sessionStorage and disappears when you close the tab.
Job Fit
When you run an analysis on /fit, the job-description text is stored along with basic metadata: job title, company, fit score, and date. The text is also sent to Ollama Cloud (same model and terms as above) to produce the analysis. If you paste a link, the server fetches that page once to pull out the posting text.
Uploaded files are never stored. Only the text extracted from them is kept, under the same rules as pasted text.
To generate or download a tailored resume, you verify your email with a one-time code. If you do, Matthew is notified (your email, the job title and company, and the fit score) and may follow up. The verified email is stored with the analysis.
Contact form
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're not a bot. Submissions are sent by Resend to Matthew's private inbox. He replies from a branded alias routed through Cloudflare Email Routing. No tracking pixels, no forwarding to CRMs.
Rate limiting & analytics
To prevent abuse, requests to the chat, Job Fit, and contact form are rate limited with Upstash Redis. Your IP address is used as a short-lived counter key and expires automatically; it isn't logged anywhere. No third-party analytics or advertising scripts run on this site.
Retention
- Chat questions: 90 days, then deleted.
- Job-description text (pasted, fetched, or extracted from an upload): 90 days, then deleted. The basic metadata (title, company, score, date) is kept longer for aggregate stats.
- Verified emails: 90 days, then deleted.
- Contact form messages: kept in Matthew's inbox unless you ask for them to be deleted.
Deletion runs automatically on a daily schedule.
